Businesses which provide easy physical access to their premises can help the confidence of customers and clients who have a physical or sensory impairment.
Easy access will also help some older people and people with caring responsibilities.
Of course, not all businesses are located at ground level and that can cause access problems.
At Grigor & Young, however, you enter both our offices – in Elgin and Forres – directly off the street, without any necessity to climb stairs.
Disabled parking and office accessibility
Our Elgin office is on North Street. This street, which links Elgin High Street to the A96 at Alexandra Road, only permits parking on one side.
All the marked spaces are for disabled users only and, being on the G&Y side of what is a fairly narrow street, they provide direct and easy access to our offices.
Further parking is available at modest cost at Ladyhill Car Park (close to the rear of the Moray Playhouse cinema and Marks & Spencer) and Lossie Green (the large car park close to Elgin Town Hall and Elgin Community Centre, beside the A941 to Lossiemouth).
Our Elgin office is also well-located for bus services, being adjacent to Elgin Bus Station.
Wheelchair users can access our Elgin office easily and there are large downstairs meeting rooms available, one of which is only a few feet inside the front entrance.
Hearing impairment
The Elgin office of Grigor & Young now has a Portable Hearing Loop machine.
A Hearing Loop is a special sound system for use by people with hearing aids. The loop generates a magnetic, wireless signal which is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to ‘T’ (Telecoil setting).
The portability of the machine means it can be used in any of our meeting rooms, as required.
There is a sticker in the window to the right of our front entrance as a reminder that we have the hearing loop facility.

You are welcome to bring a “buddy” (friend or relative) with you to any meeting with us, to support you.
We can also visit you at home – or at a suitable alternative venue – if it is not realistic for you to come to see us.
