If you have been injured as a result of an accident, we recommend that you get advice from a local, personal injury specialist solicitor, to see if you have prospects of claiming compensation for your injuries and consequential losses (e.g. loss of earnings).
Helping you in Moray
At Grigor & Young / Moray Claims, our principal aim is to help people in Moray to claim full and fair compensation for their losses.
Personal injury claims are handled by our solicitors, Marie Morrison and Peter Brash. Both of them are accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as Specialists in Personal Injury Law.
They are also each accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as Senior Litigators. The Elgin office of Grigor & Young has corporate accreditation from APIL.
What is APIL?
A video about APIL
APIL has produced a video – available on YouTube (transcript below) – which explains the ethos of the organisation, its reach and aims.
APIL campaigns for the rights of injured people in Moray and beyond – across the UK. It has an ongoing mission to educate the public about their rights and train its member lawyers, to ensure that the highest standard of legal advice is maintained.
APIL recognises that money is not everything and there needs to be much more focus on rehabilitation in future, to help you, the injured person, recover as fully and as quickly as possible.

“Every day, too many people are needlessly injured because others did not take, or could not be bothered to take, reasonable care.
Their lives can be completely shattered through no fault of their own.
The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (or APIL, for short) believes these people have a right to get their lives back on track, and quickly.
We are a not-for-profit organisation that has been fighting for the rights of injured people for more than 25 years.
We believe in the importance of preventing needless injury but, when such injuries do occur, people have the right to seek justice, care and fair compensation. We believe passionately in that right.
We promote the interests of injured people and campaign for reform whenever it is needed, working with: parliamentarians from all parties, across all UK jurisdictions; like-minded organisations; and charities.
APIL believes that injured people deserve nothing less than a high quality service, so we run accreditation and training schemes for our member lawyers, to ensure they are the best they can be.
But seeking redress is not just about financial compensation: rehabilitation and care are crucial but not routinely available, so we are promoting greater collaboration from all concerned to help people get better more quickly. We are committed to this as part of our ongoing fight for the rights of injured people.”
